After 17 years of construction, the Gotthard Base Tunnel will open its two entrance portals in a few weeks' time.

Since last October, the Gotthard railway tunnel has been in the test phase. Freight trains are already using the new line, but there are still tests to be carried out before the inauguration on 1 June 2016. GESTE Engineering contributes, since 2004, to the technical management of the signalling group and the equipment related to tunnel safety.

The magazine Coopération, in its article published on 22 June 16, presents three Swiss companies, including GESTE Engineering, which worked on the construction of this 57km long railway tunnel, the longest in the world (read the article here).
