The SysT1-m consortium, led by GESTE, with Emch+Berger, ENOTRAC and Pöyry as co-contractors, was awarded the engineering mandate for the railway system (transport system mandate) for the project to extend the t1 tramway from Renens station in the direction of Villars-Sainte-Croix ( sub-project 1).
The creation of Lausanne's first tramway line, which will link Renens station to Place de l'Europe, is the first step in the "Strategic Axes" project for the Lausanne-Morges agglomeration. It will allow to provide optimal, high-speed service to dense areas or areas that are expected to become denser. It is planned to put the tramway into service as early as 2023 (from Lausanne-Flon to Renens).
The strength of the SysT1-m consortium lies in the involvement of each of its members in sub-projects 2 and 3 (tramway t1 between Lausanne-Flon and Renens-Railway station). The synergies already existing and the knowledge acquired on these projects are key elements that make its participation in the third stage - sub-project 1 - a guarantee of the continuity of the overall t1 project.
As a major player in local projects, GESTE is already looking forward to put its expertise and know-how at the service of a mobility project which will allow a development of the west of the agglomeration as well as of the city of Lausanne.
