By participating in the Hyper4Rail project, GESTE Engineering is helping to write the history of mobility in Europe. Funded by Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking and by State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI (for Swiss partners), the consortium is composed of 27 organizations from 13 countries, and coordinated by Hyperloop Development Program.
The kick-off event took place last week and was hosted by TUM Hyperloop and the Hyperloop Development Programm in Munich. It highlighted the creation of interoperable hyperloop network for passengers and cargo across Europe.
25 years ago, GESTE, through Michele Mossi (CEO), was responsible for the first project in Europe for a Hyperloop-type mode of transport (), and GESTE is still involved in those Hyperloop innovative projects to this day. Alongside Michele Mossi, Swissmetro Aryldo G Russo Jr, CEng FIRSE (Group Innovation Director) and Gerardo Fasano (Project Manager), represent GESTE in the Hyper4rail project, which aims:
- to harmonize the functional concepts of a hyperloop system in order for it to be considered, in the near future, as the 5th mean of mass public transport
- to aligne hyperloop transportation with the sustainable goals for European Transports
