In the rail and metro fields, they are no longer just a locomotive pulling wagons and a mechanic reading signals: to improve performance and safety, trains now have their own traction unit built into motor bogies, are increasingly made up of equipment and carry their own 'intelligence', an on-board signalling and automation system (ATC, ATO) which actively dialogues with a remote control centre, or even with other vehicles. And automation is also starting to spread to the road sector, where the first self-driving and even driverless vehicles are appearing.
In this revolution, conventional or 4.0, GESTE brings its knowledge of system engineering, signalling and safety to developing guided or self-driving vehicles for rail, urban and road transport. We work with operators, infrastructure managers, industries and private companies.
