It is no secret in the AECO industry that the BIM methodology improves collaboration, communication and the overall quality of projects while reducing errors and facilitating maintenance planning. New developments in the BIM field are integrating the infrastructure domain, especially the railway sector, to this already consecrated methodology for buildings.
Following this optics, GESTE Engineering develops BIM-based workflows for digitizing railway projects during their entire lifecycle. From analyzing existing conditions using point cloud surveys, developing new projects through Common Data Environments, and managing geometrical and alphanumerical information through digital models, the company uses good practices of BIM for the railway sector integrating the ISO 19650 and structuring metadata for asset management since the beginning of the project’s lifecycle.
