Transport automation is constantly developing. Responding to this trend, GESTE is involved in several large European automation projects, bringing innovative technical answers to societal challenges.
After having participated in several pioneering projects in Europe in the field of automation (metros of Lyon and Brussels, metro of Lausanne - a substantial technical achievement for the time, due to the strong declivity of the city), GESTE continues its progress in this field and launches new challenges: to put automation at the service of transport logistics and productivity, by acting on bus depots.
The company has developed a high level of expertise in logistics and transport productivity optimisation, by being involved on several occasions, and with success, in the organisation of public transport in the Lausanne conurbation.
In 2013, GESTE elaborated a concept to develop an IT tool to automate the management of the Lausanne transport road depots in order to optimise the parking and maintenance of buses. This tool should improve the productivity of the road depot activities and of the future tram by a better fluidity of the parking, an optimisation of the depot surface, a better reactivity to unforeseen events, a better working environment for the staff and a decrease in costs.
This year, the transport authorities of the city of Lausanne have renewed their confidence in GESTE, asking it to continue the studies on this project.
