Confronted with a galloping urbanisation as well as means of transport that reduce distances and blur geographical boundaries, safe and sustainable mobility is one of the great challenges of the 21st century. GESTE Engineering is involved in European projects, putting its various trades at the service of transport.
Concerned by the issue of the coordination of transport systems between countries and with its strong experience in railway interoperability, GESTE Engineering has been working for several years as an ERTMS technical expert for major decision-makers. After being involved in the first ERTMS line in the world (Mattstetten-Rothrit, Switzerland), GESTE was then an expert in ERTMS technique for France and today for the European Commission in charge of ERTMS projects.
GESTE also intervenes in railway technology (signalling, etc.), risk management (RAMS) and aeraulics on the main railway lines. GESTE has thus been involved in the construction of several high-speed lines (HSL), major axes structuring the European territory, such as the HSL Rhine-Rhône (France) or the HSL Lisbon-Madrid, Lisbon-Porto and Porto-Vigo (Portugal).
Its privileged geographical position has enabled it to work on the largest transalpine projects:
- the Gotthard and Ceneri railway line project (Switzerland-Italy),
- the Lyon-Turin (France-Italy) railway line project,
- the Lötschberg railway line project (Switzerland), as well as other major cross-border projects :
- the CEVA project (Geneva-Annemasse, Switzerland-France).
In the heart of the big European cities, GESTE Engineering takes part in the creation of new lines and their adaptation to the new stakes:
- new circular metro line in Copenhagen (Ring),
- new circular metro line in Paris (Grand Paris red line),
- automation of the metros of Brussels, Lyon, Paris, Lausanne,
- Naples metro,
- Toulouse tramway.
