A few hours before the inauguration of the Gotthard Base Tunnel, scheduled for Wednesday, June 1, 2016, GESTE Engineering expresses its pride and honour to participate since 2004 in the realisation of this major transalpine project, "a technical feat and an exciting story of a whole country".
For 12 years, we assume, as part of a consortium, the technical direction of the signalling group. In this capacity, we carried out the project and tendering of the signalling system and line safety equipment (ETCS-L2) and were involved in the technical and functional specification, definition of operational processes, commissioning planning, laboratory and on-site tests and the preparation of safety files.
We also provide support to the prime contractor for railway and non-railway technology as well as for the coordination of the management of interfaces and RAMS procedures between the various technical areas.
The management of GESTE Engineering would like to take this opportunity to thank all its collaborators who have contributed to this magnificent adventure, in particular Roland, Patrick and Frédéric, who have devoted to this project with great success an important period of their life as engineers: a huge THANK YOU and BRAVO to:
Roland Hofstetter | Andrea Krpo |
Frédéric Jörger | Jean-Baptiste Darcos |
Michele Mossi | Michael Riemenschnitter |
Michel Baud | Anne Lehnert |
Patrick Favre | François Vuille |
The commercial operation of the Gotthard Base Tunnel will begin on December 11, 2016, when passenger and freight wagons will be placed alongside the new railway line through the Gotthard Base Tunnel.
